Week 3

This week, I was assigned to teach a Grade 4 class. Everything went quite smoothly; the students were active, lively, and very cooperative during the lessons.

In addition to our classroom observations, we also participated in various other activities at the elementary school. We often had dinner together and sang songs, and I made some Indonesian friends with whom I explored Semarang at night. The nighttime atmosphere in Semarang felt beautifully poetic to me.

In Semarang, the shopping centers are large and offer a wide variety of goods. That's why, outside of school hours, we often went there to stroll around and buy souvenirs for our loved ones. Batik fabric is a hallmark of Indonesia, so I couldn't resist buying some. I also managed to pick up a few souvenirs like bags and keychains.

There was also a city tour planned for the weekend, but unfortunately, I was unwell that day and couldn’t join everyone. I was very disappointed because there were places I really wanted to visit. The teachers and friends here were all concerned about me, and I was very touched by that.

We also had practice sessions for a cultural performance where we showcased songs and acts representative of our countries. The Filipino friends sang and danced to traditional songs from their country, while our Vietnamese group just sang. Additionally, there were two students from Thailand and India who performed traditional dances and played drums.
